Biography

Cameron "Came/Ran" Harrison was born to Dawn Tyson & Robert Harrison on October 28, 1994 in Cheasapeake, VA. He lived in Suffolk, VA until he was about 7 years old, then moving to his current area Middletown, CT. It was in 2004, when he was first really introduced to music. "My mom was dating this guy, and I remember him owning millions of CDs. Jay-Z, Kanye West, Nas, Lauryn Hill, he would play me all of these. I remember coming home after school, and we would watch MTV Jams. He would tell me all kinds of information about the artists," Came/Ran said. But it wasn't until he watched Jay-Z's "Fade To Black" film when he discovered waht he wanted to do. "'Fade To Black', to this day, is still one of my favorite movies. It was on MTV2 one day, and I decided to watch it. This was in 2006, so I was a little late, because I had never watched it before. Just seeing the scenes of Kanye and Jay in the studio, or Pharrell and Jay, just gave me this incredible feeling inside. When watching the movie, it hit me, this is what I want to do, I want to be a producer."

In 2008, Came/Ran started to attend Green Street Art Center, where he started to produce his own music, first using simple GarageBand. "While everyone else was making music that they felt sounded like the modern music played on the radio, or the music you would hear in a club. I took a motown-ish, hip-hop style drum beat, and put it over a classical piano track. When my teacher first heard it, he told me I had a good ear for music, which inspired me more to continue with my dream.

Currently, Came/Ran attends the Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, where he has found a new interest in different sounds of the Caribbean. He makes beats at a little nearby studio, and sometimes makes songs with a few friends. While reading "All You Need To Know About The Music Business", Came/Ran learned, before releasing your music or trying to get yourself out there, you need to be comfortable with your own music. He has yet to be completely comfortable with his music. But with his sources already growing, just from people liking his personality, when he's ready, he is sure to get far in the business.
